Suriname: Wealthy or Not?

Suriname's Problems on Nature and Environment

Suriname's environment and wildlife are very much protected from destructive influences; however, deforestation is one of the main issues that Suriname faces right now, it is becoming a major concern and Surinamese are paying attention to these difficulties. Also, pollutants from the its mining industry really affect the water, which is why there is not enough water supply in the coastal areas. The nation's wildlife is also becoming a problem due to the preservation of its tropical rain forest. In 2001, it is said that only 10 out of 180 mammal species and several plants are endangered.
